"Gear Up Velo officially opened its doors May 1, following the ease of restrictions in the state of Ohio due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, owners Brian and Kate Rybak have become a successful part of the downtown Independence area

.....When approached about buying out Spin, Brian became part of a small business mentorship program called SCORE, where you are assigned a mentor to help you decide on whether you may want to own a business or buy an existing one.

......When Brian heard from his mentor about the Independence Bike Shoppe having less business due to the internet age, he met with [the] former owner..... After a month of going over the terms of a sale, the Rybaks received the keys on March 23."
