LARRY MIDLA Accomplishments Owner and Manager of Low Country Heat Treat – Started a commercial heat treat operation, installed equipment, attained ISO9001:2008 certification, CQI-9 certification, steadily grew sales to $1M in 2011. Metrics- Delivery to customers, 90% within two days. Quality - less than 0.5% scrap (5000 PPM). As plant manager of MascoTech/Metaldyne – sintered components and earlier at Getrag Precision Gear I led the effort to improve several key measures: Metrics MascoTech Getrag Improved on time delivery From 85% to 95% From 65% to 96% Safety – reduced lost time Reduced each by 50% Incidence reduced accidents and incidences from 14 to 7 Getrag Precision Gear – Led the employees through a transition from 100% Cummins owned gear cost center to a 50/50 joint venture with Getrag as the managing partner in 1995 – 1996. Managed the venture for the first year. Technical – presented a paper on gear distortion at the ASM, American Society for Metals, joint conference between ASM and AGMA in Indianapolis in 2009. Trainer/Developer Trained over 100 employees at two facilities in the ASM Heat Treating of Steel course 1979 – 1997. Trained and coached Green Belts to Six Sigma certification using improvement projects at the corporate headquarters of Johnson Johnson 2001 – 2004.
