The Culpeper County Conference (C3) is designed to help your business market to customers, operate more efficiently, and grow. This half-day conference will be held at Germanna Community College, Daniel Technology Center on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 from 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., and is free for all to attend.
C3 will include multiple in-depth workshops and hour-long Power Course options led by local and regional experts, as well as a lunchtime Entrepreneur Panel. Light breakfast and lunch will be provided.

The GO Start-Up program is an entry-level program for entrepreneurs who want to start their own businesses. Participants will have the opportunity to test a business concept through hands-on project development and management skills in a low-risk environment. The program puts an emphasis on participant self-organization and goal setting as critical components of business ownership. Participants of the program should be willing to learn new and challenging concepts that come with starting a business in a fast-paced environment.

Nelson County is using state and federal grant funds to launch a Community Business Launch program to support business growth in vacant spaces in the village of Lovingston.
This is a free business training program designed to provide a base of business fundamentals to individuals looking to start or expand a business in Lovingston. Following the completion of the eight-week program, selected individuals will be invited to compete for up to $15,000 in startup grants.
The program is open to all entrepreneurs. Nelson County residency is not required and U.S. Citizenship is not required
Ten local entrepreneurs pitch to a live audience willing to pledge funds to their favorite contestant. It’s a three-minute chance to share your vision with the community and inspire the crowd to the action!
Each finalist has the opportunity to raise funds both before and during the pitch night. ALL donations intended for a startup or project will go to that startup! The City of Charlottesville Office of Economic Development and Albemarle County Economic Development have joined forces to offer educational programming leading to a pitch competition for local small businesses. Entrepreneurs and small business owners in Charlottesville and Albemarle can apply to participate in the 10-week program including 8 training programs (Business Essentials Training) offered by Central Virginia SBDC and work with a business advisor to hone their pitch and develop a solid business plan. Graduates of Piedmont Pitch have the opportunity to pitch for $15,000 in prize money
Culpeper Competes is designed to encourage and develop an entrepreneurial spirit through business development education and mentorships to guide participants through the process of launching or growing their business.
Courses will be presented at the Town’s Economic Development Center, 803 S. Main Street. All course presentations will be streamed online for virtual attendance as well.
