Thomas (Tom) Guy Cornwell, born May 17, 1955, is a life time St. Louis, Missouri resident, with 37 years experience in the worldwide defense market.  He is currently Adjunct Professor with George Herbert Walker School of Business and Technology, Webster University.  He is a retired Vice President / General Manager (VP/GM) of DRS Sustainment Systems, Inc., headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri.  DRS Sustainment Systems Inc. is one of the largest operating units within the DRS complement of companies.  Mr. Cornwell assumed the VP/GM duties in October 2008, in conjunction with the acquisition and reorganization of DRS Technologies by Italian defense contractor Finmeccanica. 

DRS Technologies is a leading supplier of integrated products, services and support to military forces, intelligence agencies and prime contractors worldwide. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Finmeccanica S.p.A., employing more than 70,000 people worldwide.

From October 2006, Mr. Cornwell was President of the DRS Sustainment Systems Business Segment, after serving for six months as Vice President / General Manager of the DRS Sustainment Systems small business unit, formerly part of the Sustainment Systems and Services Group.  Before that, Mr. Cornwell served for five years as President and Chief Executive Officer of Engineered Air Systems, Inc. (EASI), a subsidiary of Engineered Support Systems, Inc. (ESSI), before DRS acquired that company on January 31, 2006.

Prior to becoming President and CEO of EASI in 2000, Mr. Cornwell served in various general management positions of increasing responsibility at Systems & Electronics, Inc., another ESSI subsidiary, for 24 years. He began with the company as a purchasing agent in 1974.

Helen utilized SCORE when she initially started her business, Mason-Hanley & Associates in Nashville, TN in 1985, and feels it is now time to pay it forward to others who need business advice.

Helen is currently co-owner of Hanley Consulting (HC) and has been a Value Added Associate and Distributor affiliated with Target Training International, Ltd. (TTI) since 1995.  Her son, Craig, will be taking over the family business in a few years.  HC utilizes the TTI Success Insights® Behaviors and Motivators and TTI Insights™ Job assessment tools in their consulting business and customizes solutions to everyday business problems utilizing these tools. Helen has presented workshops on these subjects at the National meetings for the Medical Group Management Association, American Society of Ophthalmology Administrators/Surgeons and Medic Computer Systems (now Misys Group) and for many local groups and organizations.  Helen specializes in ensuring her clients obtain meaningful day-to-day implementation of her problem-solving recommendations, and will provide this same type mentoring to her SCORE clients and workshop attendees.

As a Business Banker, Helen assisted clients in the areas of Business Lending (SBA and conventional) and business financial management, has worked with virtually all types of businesses, and will continue consulting in these areas to help her clients, both SCORE and private pay, attain financial success.

Alan Millner is an electrical engineer, with experience in power electronics, solar energy systems, electric vehicles, and medical devices. His business experience includes small business startup and sale, product development, and product strategy. He earned his BSEE, MSEE, and PhD from MIT. After working at MIT Lincoln Laboratory on spacecraft and solar energy systems, he co-founded a solar system company in 1979. After sale of the company, he left it in 1985 to serve as an engineering manager in a series of small and medium sized businesses, which included both industrial power electronics and medical devices. In 2009 he returned to MIT Lincoln Lab where he now works part time as energy systems technical staff.
