SCORE “Counselors to America’s Small Business” to Present Bob Souza with Its Highest National Award for Volunteer Service

Washington, D.C.—The SCORE Association will present the Walter H. Channing Award of Excellence to SCORE Cyberchapter Chair Bob Souza, who played an important role in establishing SCORE’s highly successful email counseling service. This national honor is the highest recognition awarded by SCORE and will be presented to Souza December 9, at the fourth annual SCORE District Directors Conference in New Orleans.

Washington, D.C.—Patty DeDominic of Los Angeles, Calif., was re-elected vice chair of The SCORE Foundation. She will continue to build relationships and serve as an advocate for the work of the foundation. The SCORE Foundation is a nonprofit, public charity that serves as the philanthropic benefactor to the SCORE Association. DeDominic’s term began on October 1, 2003.

Washington, D.C.—SCORE “Counselors to America’s Small Business” and Easi Media, Inc., announce an alliance that will reduce the time and effort business owners spend trying to find a wide range of business information. Easi Media will provide a free copy of its electronic small business technical guide, iEdition, to entrepreneurs who receive counseling from SCORE or attend one of SCORE’s business training workshops.

Washington, D.C.—The SCORE Association announces the launch of its redesigned SCORE Small Business Web Site, www.score.org. The site features SCORE’s hallmark email counseling advice service. The updated Ask SCORE service features five-steps to business advice. Entrepreneurs can enter keywords or a question to find one of more than 1,200 business experts. Ask SCORE offers entrepreneurs access to advisors, who bring more than 600 combined skills.

Washington, D.C.—James W. Pyles of Elkhart, Ind., was recently elected vice chair of the Board of Directors of SCORE, “Counselors to America’s Small Business.” His one-year term began October 1, 2003.

SCORE is a nonprofit association that provides free and confidential business counseling and low-cost small business workshops and seminars. SCORE members volunteer their time and expertise to advise, counsel and mentor entrepreneurs.
