Prior to launching Alpha Consulting & Empowerment, Ann Marie worked at Citi Group, as an Assistant Vice President for Global Consumer Affairs, TIAA/CREF as a senior Accounting Associate in Tax planning and real estate investment, New York Life Insurance company as a Financial Professional and Psychology and Accounting adjunct professor at Bryant & Stratton College and Schiller International University respectively. She is the co-author of Customer Service & Professionalism for Women and the founder of Life Transformation & Connections, a non-profit organization for empowering women. She has published Aging Workforce: Generational Cohort as a Moderator of the Relationship between Extrinsic and Intrinsic Motivation and Job Satisfaction, ProQuest, May 2012. Ann Marie was nominated as Women of the year 2012 by National Association for Professional Women for her outstanding professionalism, she is a Business Psychologist and mentor and sits on several boards. She also authored and administers “The Empowered Woman, 21 Days Intensive” coaching program.
Ann Marie earned her PhD in Organizational Psychology and MBA in Business Management from Walden University and Regis University respectively with honors, and her BS in Accounting from St Francis College. She is also a member of PePsico external coaching pool. She’s a member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), and Emotional Intelligence Society. She has coaching certifications from IPEC Inside Out Coaching and Behavioral Coaching Institute. She is also a certified diversity and conflict resolution trainer.

Most of my career (+25 years) has been in the media business, primarily in a top managerial, head financial or sales role. Over the course of my career, I have managed human resources, IT, finance, general accounting, sales, marketing, customer service, production and other areas. I have proven experience in leading large teams, start-ups, acquisitions, change management, developing policies, etc. I believe strongly in developing and mentoring staff. Additionally, as traditional media business evolved it afforded me the opportunity to become involved with multi-platform sales, including web and mobile. I am well-versed in general accounting and business systems, and have proven strengths in supervision, planning, analytics, business metrics, negotiation, pricing, cost reduction, media buying, government relations, in addition to public speaking skills.
I have always been deeply involved with nonprofit organizations in various capacities that have included officer, director, management, fundraising and event organization since college. Probably most significant was my tenure as a board member with the Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs of East County, where I was on their marketing committee. Until moving recently, I held an elected position with the County of San Diego (3 terms, Planning), and was the former president of a community organization, GMIA. Additionally, I have experience both from a financial and logistics side with events. These included San Diego's Big Bay Boom (not 2012’s or 2013’s) and six Pacific Islander cultural/sports events (I am their media and PR director).
