With my wife I own Coastal K9 Consulting, LLC in Ellsworth, ME. We offer full Dog Training Services, for Service, Sport and Pet Training. WE opening in January 2012, after returning to Maine from San Antonio, TX where we worked at the Military Working Dog Program for about 2 years.
My dog training career began in 1977, Tracy's in 1989. IN April of 2014 we opened The Dog Studio of Acadia, offering pet dog and cat grooming, Doggie Daycare, and group training classes.

Retired senior executive with a background in high technology industries. My experience includes engineering and research management, product development, manufacturing and operations in government (NASA), industry (semiconductor manufacturing equipment and aerospace/defense) and academia (Visiting Professor at the University of Connecticut). I have worked in both large and small businesses as an intrapreneur and entrepreneur, In recent years I have served as a business and technology consultant to a number of major corporations as well as several small start up companies, engaged in strategic business planning and development as well as mergers and acquisitions.

Alverta Lopez is the president of APL Solutions, LLC. Her primary focus is on winning and maintaining contract awards in the areas of Management Consulting (as it relates to Administrative Management, Human Resource Consulting, Telecommunications Consulting, Staffing Services, Project Management and Contracts Management). The company's primary focus is to help companies improve performance, comply with complex regulations, enhance infrastructure and stimulate growth. Our responsibilities include all aspects of the day-to-day operations as well as providing consulting services to clients who are interested in getting into the Federal space.
Prior to owning APL Solutions, LLC, Ms. Lopez served as the President of a full ground transportation company for over 6 years. Her responsibilities included Managing Projects, administering the management of the corporation, its employees and consultants and providing leadership to the team. She was the lead person responsible for the signature and audit of invoices, checks, releases, Billing, Accounts Receivables/Payables, and other documents in the name of the company. I was also responsible for executing Teaming Agreements (NDA/Joint Venture's (JV) ); overseeing contracts and proposal preparation; as well as hiring the right staff to support senior management as well as other Government Officials.
Before becoming president, Ms. Lopez served in a number of Billing, Finance and Contract support roles. She managed support staff; developed processes and procedures, provided Process improvement plans and Training Guides to be used by all employees and worked on several Government Contracts with GSA, making sure we were in compliance with the FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) from a billing perspective, managed Accounts Receivables/Payables/Collections . Ms. Lopez has a track record of being able to reduce accounts receivables. Previous Federal/Government project work included services to the following agencies: MCI/Verizon, AT&T, Winstar, and a Consultant to MODIS, Inc.

Prior to launching Alpha Consulting & Empowerment, Ann Marie worked at Citi Group, as an Assistant Vice President for Global Consumer Affairs, TIAA/CREF as a senior Accounting Associate in Tax planning and real estate investment, New York Life Insurance company as a Financial Professional and Psychology and Accounting adjunct professor at Bryant & Stratton College and Schiller International University respectively. She is the co-author of Customer Service & Professionalism for Women and the founder of Life Transformation & Connections, a non-profit organization for empowering women. She has published Aging Workforce: Generational Cohort as a Moderator of the Relationship between Extrinsic and Intrinsic Motivation and Job Satisfaction, ProQuest, May 2012. Ann Marie was nominated as Women of the year 2012 by National Association for Professional Women for her outstanding professionalism, she is a Business Psychologist and mentor and sits on several boards. She also authored and administers “The Empowered Woman, 21 Days Intensive” coaching program.
Ann Marie earned her PhD in Organizational Psychology and MBA in Business Management from Walden University and Regis University respectively with honors, and her BS in Accounting from St Francis College. She is also a member of PePsico external coaching pool. She’s a member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), and Emotional Intelligence Society. She has coaching certifications from IPEC Inside Out Coaching and Behavioral Coaching Institute. She is also a certified diversity and conflict resolution trainer.
