The owners of 2Sisters Senior Living Advisors, Michelle Woodbrey and Allyson Powers were recognized as one of two winners of the 2019 "Small Business Owner of the Year" award by Cape Cod & the Islands SCORE
In 2012, sisters, Michelle and Allyson bravely ventured into a new concept in senior living – providing a free service to families needing assistance in finding the best senior living facility for their loved ones. Based on their valued experience in the senior care market, 2Sisters understood that the rapidly growing landscape and fierce competition would support this new model. As a result, their income is not derived from the family they are assisting but rather from the senior living facilities that are excited to have a new resident.
2Sisters turned to SCORE to help them with their business plan and get started. Since that initial meeting in 2012, SCORE has provided mentoring guidance on many levels - finding a more effective CPA, developing partnership agreements, promoting growth by adding staff, outsourcing options, and establishing strong employee relationships.
The hard work has paid off for Michelle and Allyson as they have seen 2Sisters Senior Living Advisors grow to a team of six people with strong revenue growth in the past 2 years and a very healthy bottom line that will be used to fuel continued growth. And as they move forward with their future plans, their SCORE mentoring team, principally David Epstein and Steve Feist will be by their side.
