OverclockedIT LLC, Daniel Weigner
Data breaches and cyber security threats continue to pose problems for businesses and their customers. Did you know that 60 percent of small companies close within six months of a cyber security attack?
Warrington business owner Daniel Weigner, who founded OverclockedIT, LLC two years ago, strives to set up his small business clients with proper security protocols to prevent breaches and other cyber attacks.
“We’re really sensitive about making sure there are solutions for protecting your data,” Weigner said. “The biggest misconception out there is that small business owners think they’re not a target.”
However, the 2013 Pennsylvania College of Technology graduate said the malicious actors who send viruses, malware, and ransomware to computers are “casting a wide net.” That is why he uses his IT and cyber security background to prevent problems before they arise.
Cyber security is one of many offerings the full-service information technology company provides to customers in Bucks and Montgomery counties. Weigner and his technician also help clients budget for and implement new computer systems, backup and recover data, streamline cloud-based data protection, and maintain and monitor systems, among other IT-related services.
Providing managed information technology services was second nature for Weigner, but drafting a business plan, budgeting for the business, tracking expenses, and finding new customers was all out of his wheelhouse. Soon after launching his business in 2019, Weigner began meeting with SCORE Bucks County mentor Richard Kroger.
“He was fundamental at defining the core of my business,” Weigner said of Kroger, whose background includes working more than 30 years in the banking and commercial finance industries. “He was really good at helping me understand financial statements before I got a bookkeeper.”
Weigner found invaluable expertise in his sessions with Kroger. SCORE mentors are former/current business owners, or executives offering no-cost services at every stage of a business.
“He’s been able to grow his business and stay focused on its operation,” Kroger said. “Dan is very knowledgeable, hardworking, and diligent about doing his best to meet his customers’ needs.”
While OverclockedIT does provide emergency fixes for computer crashes, data loss, breaches, and other catastrophic events, Weigner stresses the importance of building relationships with his customers.
“We’re not trying to be a company that just fixes your computers, and you don’t hear from us until you have another problem,” Weigner said, adding that his company offers monthly services. “We want to be your partner. We want to help you plan so you don’t have these unexpected large IT expenses.”
His company name says it all: “You can overclock parts of a computer to perform better. We’re trying to provide a service that’s better.”
