Warrant Officer One Ge Pao Xiong enlisted in the California Army National Guard in August 2005. Private Xiong, at the time, received his Basic Training at Ft Jackson, South Carolina, and Advance Individual Training at Ft Eustis, Virginia, where he graduated as a OH-58D Helicopter Repairer.

His first unit of assignment was the 1106th AVCRAD from 2005 until 2010. From 2010 to 2011, he was assigned to Company B 1-140th Aviation Battalion, serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom with duties as a UH-60 Crew Chief. Upon return from deployment in 2011, Sergeant Xiong was assigned to DET 1 Company I 185th Theater Aviation with the change of duties as a C23 Load Master/ Flight Engineer until 2013. From 2013 to 2019, he was assigned to A Company 1106th TASMG and held multiple duties from Section Chief to UH60 Helicopter Technical Inspector. In 2020 Staff Sergeant Xiong was assigned to DET 1, Company B 1-140th Aviation Battalion (Assault) and started his transition from enlisted to Warrant Officer. He took his Warrant Officer appointment on June 2020 upon completion of the Warrant Officer Candidate School at Fort Rucker, Alabama. Mr. Xiong recently completed the UH-60M Blackhawk Helicopter Pilot course in June 2022 from Fort Rucker, Alabama also. Warrant Officer One Xiong is currently assigned to Detachment 1, Company Bravo 1-140th Assault Helicopter Battalion, with duties as a UH-60M Blackhawk pilot.
