Bob is a serial entrepreneur with 25 years of leadership experience in growing businesses and creating wealth for investors, management and employees. Most recently, Bob served as President and CEO of Agility Recovery Solutions. Under Bob’s leadership, Agility became the largest and most successful disaster recovery service provider to organizations of all sizes in North America. The company went from having 300 clients to over 20,000 during his tenure with Agility. The investors in Agility experienced in excess of a 10-times return on their investment when the company was sold in 2015.
Prior to Agility, Bob was the Vice President and General Manager of Muzak, where he managed the Mid-Atlantic Region as well as developed and grew the company’s fastest growing product line called Voice, a message-on-hold service. Voice's customer base grew to 80,000 customers under Bob’s leadership, and Muzak became the dominant provider in the industry.
Currently, Bob works with several private equity firms, family funds, and middle-market debt and equity investment firms. He is an operating partner who provides deal flow, board membership, due diligence, and expert assistance. In addition, Bob works with portfolio companies to develop and maximize revenue streams, create robust sales teams, and focus on developing talent.
Bob sits on the Board of Directors for Focus 4 Media, Agility Recovery Solutions, and Hornet Holdco. He is also the co-founder of Rule of 78, providing strategic assistance to recurring billing organizations in order to maximize their growth potential and EBITDA. Rule of 78 also manages several family trust investments. Bob serves as a member of the Council of Entrepreneurs and Operators for Driehaus Private Equity.
Bob received his BS in Economics from Davidson College, and an MBA from the McColl School of Business. He lives in Charlotte with his wife Maurya and two sons, Nick and Will. When not at work, Bob is most likely to be with his family watching a soccer or wrestling match, or hiking in the mountains near Blowing Rock. Bob was named a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2015.
