Evelyn Shields and Vanessa Roy started a small cat-sitting service in Austin, Texas, after struggling to find someone to care for their ill cat while traveling. As their business grew, they turned to SCORE for help and were matched with mentor Jim Grimsley. With Jim's guidance, they developed a business plan, operational systems, and transitioned from independent contractors to staff. Austin Cat Sitters now conducts an average of 100 cat visits per day and employs more than 20 cat sitters. SCORE's support has been crucial to their success, and they continue to work with their mentor as they set their sights on future growth. Find your mentor today.
