Philip Malcolm Joins SCORE Board of Directors

Sam’s Club Executive Offers Extensive Marketing & Management Expertise

Washington, D.C.—Philip Malcolm of Bentonville, Arkansas, joins the SCORE Board of Directors. SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business" provides small business mentoring, as well as workshops and seminars, to more than 350,000 aspiring and existing small business owners each year.

Philip is currently vice president of member services and card strategy for Sam’s Club, one of the nation’s largest warehouse clubs serving the needs of small business owners and entrepreneurs.  Philip joined Sam’s Club in 2001 as a brand marketing manager and was quickly promoted to senior director, vice president of marketing, and ultimately vice president of membership for Sam’s Club prior to his current position.

Before joining Sam’s Club, Philip worked for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, Inc. in Orlando, Florida, as brand manager for Downtown Disney West Side, Pleasure Island and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. He also has worked for AMRESCO Funding Corporation as vice president for small business loans; Barnet Bank as assistant vice president & relationship manager; and IBM as a marketing representative.

SCORE CEO Ken Yancey says, “Philip brings a wealth of marketing, management and small business knowledge to help SCORE fulfill its mission.” Yancey adds, “Philip is committed to helping small businesses start, grow and succeed. He understands what it takes to create opportunities for success.”

Philip earned a bachelor of science in business administration and a master’s degree in business administration with emphasis in marketing and finance from Florida A & M. He is a community group leader at Fellowship Bible Church in Rogers, Arkansas, and a father of four.
