SCORE Honors Lou Campanelli at SCORE’s Evening of Vision 2006

Lou Campanelli and SBA Administrator Hector BarretoWashington, D.C.—SCORE “Counselors to America’s Small Business” presents the first-ever Lou Campanelli Award to Lou Campanelli of Port Washington, N.Y. Campanelli receives this award for his volunteer service, philanthropic contributions and statewide leadership in SCORE.

The Lou Campanelli Award annually recognizes outstanding individual volunteerism, leadership, vision and philanthropy in support of small business, entrepreneurship and SCORE. Campanelli will be given the award at SCORE’s Evening of Vision 2006 at the Plandome Country Club in Plandome, N.Y., on April 20.

Campanelli is the national director for strategic alliances for SCORE. Prior to his role at SCORE, Campanelli had a long and distinguished career in the supermarket industry. Starting out as a box boy at a Bohack Supermarket store in Brooklyn, N.Y., he eventually became president of the company. He also served as the president and owner of Lamm Food Corp., which consisted of five Key Food supermarkets.

In addition, Campanelli was president of the Food Industry Alliance. Currently, he is president of Lucamp Consultants and a corporate member of the Long Island Development Corporation and the Greater New York Development Company, New York’s premier U.S. Small Business Administration 504 development company.

SCORE CEO Ken Yancey says, “Lou’s commitment and dedication symbolize the spirit of volunteerism that inspires all of us at SCORE to support America’s entrepreneurs.” Yancey adds, “Lou’s contributions to SCORE have made us a stronger and more effective resource for ensuring small business success.”

Since 1964, SCORE “Counselors to America’s Small Business” has assisted more than 7 million aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners through counseling and business workshops.
