SCORE and Commercial Credit Counseling Services, Inc. Form Alliance to Help Small Businesses in Need

Washington, D.C.—SCORE “Counselors to America’s Small Business” and Commercial Credit Counseling Services, Inc. (CCC) announce a new alliance to foster small business awareness about SCORE counseling and training. The alliance will increase SCORE’s visibility and impact on a significant market: distressed businesses.

“Our organizations have a similar mission, and that’s to help small businesses succeed,” says Jerry Silberman, CEO of CCC and co-author of Small Business Survival Book: 12 Surefire Ways for Your Business to Survive and Thrive. “The clients that we work with have serious debt issues that we can resolve, but we don’t help with their day-to-day operations. SCORE’s free and confidential counseling perfectly complements our services, since these small businesses would not be able to afford a consultant otherwise.”

CCC’s database consists of hundreds of thousands of small businesses that are experiencing some type of financial hardship. CCC markets SCORE to its database through direct mail and telemarketing. “We have arranged to have SCORE counselors on-site to help these businesses even more,” adds Silberman.

CCC links to www.score.org through its Web site, www.dontdeclare.com, and provides Web content for SCORE. CCC also launched an automated referral system to send contact information of companies looking for help to all 389 SCORE chapters nationwide.

SCORE CEO Ken Yancey says, “SCORE is pleased to form an alliance with Commercial Credit, a leader in providing an alternative to bankruptcy for companies in trouble.” Yancey adds, “Together we’ll help small businesses grow and prosper because CCC already is working with these entrepreneurs.”

Since 1964, SCORE “Counselors to America’s Small Business” has assisted more than 7 million aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners through counseling and business workshops. More than 10,500 volunteer business counselors in 389 chapters serve their communities through entrepreneurial education dedicated to the formation, growth and success of small businesses.
