SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business" Partners with SBA in Relief Effort

Washington, D.C.—SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business" partners with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to provide disaster assistance to small businesses affected by the World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks.

Small business counseling on disaster recovery, business interruption and cashflow/debt management is being provided at the SCORE Chapter, SBA District Office, 1110 Vermont Avenue, NW, 9th Flr., Washington, D.C.

SCORE provides free and confidential business advice and mentoring to entrepreneurs. Small business owners and managers can also contact SCORE for business advice online at the SCORE Small Business Web Site (www.score.org); click on Get Email Counseling.

"SCORE is rallying to help small businesses recover from the terrorist attack of September 11 with business counseling about how to recover and restart a small business," says SCORE CEO Ken Yancey. He adds, "SCORE business counselors will be on-site in Washington, D.C. to meet with business owners and managers to talk about how to restore a small business to operation."

Washington, D.C. SCORE Chapter Chair Allan Churgin is coordinating SCORE business counselors from Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia to advise entrepreneurs about: disaster recovery, a business comeback plan and managing cashflow/debt. Counseling is free and confidential. All SCORE business counselors are volunteers with extensive business management or business ownership experience.

SCORE also provides disaster recovery and business planning assistance online through email counseling on its web site (www.score.org). SCORE is offering email advice to small business owners and managers who have been affected by the call-up of military reservists via email counseling; search for business counselors with personnel or human resources experience.
