Washington, D.C. —The SCORE Association (Service Corps of Retired Executives) announces the formation of a national alliance between SCORE and Hire-Quality (www.hire-quality.com). SCORE and Hire-Quality will work together to increase awareness about resources available to honorably discharged military personnel and veterans for finding jobs in today's job market, particularly in the small business arena.
SCORE will be featured in an upcoming small business section of the Hire-Quality Web site. Featured articles, by SCORE volunteers who are veterans will provide perspective on how separated military personnel can gain access to the non-military job market. This special area of the Hire-Quality site will also provide information about starting a business and the SCORE resources available to help military men and women prepare for business ownership, if that is their interest.
According to SCORE Executive Director Ken Yancey, "SCORE is committed to helping Americans start and grow small businesses. By serving as a resource to veterans, we are helping those who have dedicated themselves to serving America with information, tools and skills that can help them succeed as entrepreneurs or as employees in the growing small business economy."
Yancey says, "Hire-Quality is offering a unique service for honorably discharged military personnel. They have created a network of 60,000 people that help honorably discharged and transitioning military service members by referring them to Hire-Quality. Hire-Quality has a database of 200,000 people seeking jobs in the civilian workforce." Yancey adds, "At SCORE, we look forward to playing a larger role in helping military personnel with their transition to their civilian careers within the small business community. Our alliance with Hire-Quality opens the door for our two organizations to join forces in support of members leaving the armed services. "
The SCORE Association was formed in 1964 as a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small business nationwide. More than 12,000 volunteers provide individual counseling and business workshops for aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners. SCORE has assisted more than 3.5 million Americans with small business counseling. Visit the SCORE Web site at (www.score.org). |
