SCORE Names Blake Welch Regional Director of California

Washington, D.C. — SCORE “Counselors to America’s Small Business” names Blake Welch of Los Angeles, Calif., as regional director for California. Welch is responsible for leading efforts to provide more mentoring and training for entrepreneurs seeking help from SCORE. He will work with state and local volunteer leaders to grow the number of SCORE services and maximize success. Learn more at www.score.org.

Welch is a management executive who has spent more than a decade helping corporations, nonprofits and small businesses grow. His recent experience includes serving as statewide director of operations for the American Lung Association of California, where he managed 16 locations across the state, centralized operations, and developed significant revenue-generating programs and marketing strategies.

Previously, Welch was director of health and safety for the American Red Cross in Los Angeles. He also has worked for Alltell Communications, Hilti North America, MCI Telecom, American Honda Finance, and the American Red Cross in Washington, D.C.

Welch earned his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in finance from the University of Tulsa. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in German and economics from Austin College in Sherman, Texas. He studied abroad at Albert Ludwig’s Universitat in Freiburg, Germany, as an undergraduate.
