SCORE Joins EntrepreneurshipWeek USA in Celebrating Young Entrepreneurs

National Effort to Educate Next Generation of Innovators

Washington, DC—SCORE “Counselors to America’s Small Business” has joined EntrepreneurshipWeek USA by adding support and resources to inspire and encourage young Americans to consider entrepreneurship as a career choice and celebrate America’s unique spirit of invention.

EntrepreneurshipWeek USA will be held February 24-March 3. The theme is “What’s Your Big Idea? Take It On!” SCORE has added a series of new articles to the SCORE Web site, www.score.org, to help young entrepreneurs in business. These include:

  • “10 Key Resources to Help You Start Smart”—valuable links to mentors, resources and calculators that can help right away
  • “7 Steps to Small Business Success” by SCORE Board Chair Paul Kopelcheck, a business consultant and marketing expert
  • “5 Ways to Jumpstart a New Business”
  • Special section with tips and resources for young entrepreneurs

SCORE CEO Ken Yancey says, "This is an excellent opportunity to make sure America’s youth reach for their dreams and let them know they don’t have to go it alone. SCORE business mentors can help.” Yancey adds, “In addition, SCORE offices across the nation work with local colleges and universities to educate young people about the business world and help them succeed.”

EntrepreneurshipWeek USA is sponsored by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and by government, nonprofit organizations and businesses, including the New York Times and Inc. magazine. Official events are planned in cities across the country. For more information, visit www.entrepreneurshipweekusa.com.
