SCORE Column: Client Lives Her Dream - Tina Dettman-Bielefeldt
Not many entrepreneurs start planning their business almost a decade before doing it. But Rachel O’Leary, SCORE client and owner of Caffe Espresso in Green Bay, dreamed of business ownership long before pursuing it. “There wasn’t a single, defining moment,” she said. “The desire built over the years and I always felt like it was something I wanted to do.”
“I wanted to open a restaurant and have it be this everything place, but they told me to find my own niche and target market. The other thing they said is that if I thought I needed $1 million, I should save up two times as much because of unexpected costs,” O’Leary said.
“I live for those busy nights when I look out and everyone is enjoying themselves and I know that I’m part of creating that,” O’Leary said.
