SCORE Association Participates in Public Awareness Campaign Associations Advance America

Washington, D.C.—The SCORE Association, “Counselors to America’s Small Business,” announces its participation in the public awareness campaign “Associations Advance America,” sponsored by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). SCORE seeks to increase public awareness about the valuable resources associations provide to America’s entrepreneurs.

SCORE has joined the ASAE Gateway to Associations, a web-based search function that enables Americans to find relevant professional and nonprofit associations. The gateway features a search by name and category function. SCORE appears in the business category.

Additionally, SCORE will be featured in a segment on the Radio Forbes Channel on American Airlines, in the program “Answering America’s Call: Associations At Work.” The program, sponsored in part by ASAE, will show how associations, through their members and missions, have created a significant economic, cultural and social impact on American life. SCORE will be featured in the October 2002 program. According to ASAE, associations participating in the campaign can, “…help spread the word about the many ways associations work to improve the quality of life in America today.”

SCORE CEO Ken Yancey says, “Associations like SCORE provide entrepreneurs with information, resources and training to help them succeed in business.”

Yancey adds, “As an ASAE member, I am pleased that SCORE can partner with ASAE to show how associations answer America’s call and provide value to our communities nationwide.”

Other associations participating in the Sky Radio broadcast include: the American Society for Training and Development, National Public Radio and National Society of Hispanic MBAs, The Shriners of North America and various regional Chambers of Commerce and Economic Development Councils.
