Fred Tinker Begins Three-Year Term on SCORE Board of Directors

Tinker Brings Wide-Ranging Experience on Business Development & Technology Issues

Washington, D.C.—Fred Tinker of Los Altos, Calif., joins the SCORE Board of Directors. SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business" provides small business mentoring, as well as workshops and seminars, to more than 350,000 aspiring and existing small business owners each year. Tinker’s term began on October 1.

Tinker has provided more than 20 years of business and financial leadership in the computer technology industry. He served at Intuit for the past ten years, most recently as the director of corporate alliances. Previously, he had held several financial positions, including director of international finance, director of financial planning and analysis, and chief financial officer of VFSC, an internal start-up at Intuit.

According to SCORE CEO Ken Yancey, “SCORE welcomes Fred Tinker, who offers a wealth of business expertise, to the SCORE Board of Directors. Before joining Intuit, Tinker spent 12 years at Apple Computer in various financial management roles. Prior to that, he served as vice president of finance at Claris, the software subsidiary of Apple Computer.

More than 10,500 volunteer business counselors in 389 chapters serve their communities through entrepreneur education dedicated to the formation, growth and success of small businesses.
