Broward SCORE together with the SBA, MetroBroward, ACCION, HBIF and supported by AARP held the second Encore Entrepreneur Mentor Day on April 24, 2013 at Nova Southeastern University. The event was targeted at assisting people over age 50 who are looking to start a second career as entrepreneurs with their own businesses.

 

The event consisted of presentations about the services SCORE and the participating organizations  provide to aid entrepreneurs with either starting a business or growing one if they had already started.

 

SCORE volunteers who were encore entrepreneurs themselves spoke to the attendees about their journeys from being employed by others to being self-employed. That was followed by some group question and answers and then one-on-one counseling.
