Donald Wood Joins SCORE Board of Directors
Business Leader Offers Wealth of Financial & Entrepreneurial Expertise
Washington, D.C.—Donald Wood of Athens, Ohio, joins the SCORE Board of Directors. SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business" provides free small business mentoring, as well as low-cost workshops and seminars, to more than 300,000 aspiring and existing small business owners each year.
Donald Wood is the Chair and CEO of Don Wood Automotive, the largest auto dealer group in southeast Ohio. Don has been in business for over 23 years with twelve franchises in five locations. Wood began his career in 1969 as a bank clerk at BancOhio National Bank, which later merged with National City Bank. He held a number of Senior Management positions, including Chief Loan Officer, Vice President of Operations and District President.
Wood actively supports several community organizations, colleges and universities. He is the director of Eastern Ohio Development Actions, which is an appointment by the County Commissioner. He is a Trustee and Chair of the Full Board at the University of Rio Grande and Chair of the Coordinating Committee. He is a member of and serves on the Audit Committee of a NASDAQ traded Bank, Wesbanco, a $5.6 billion dollar holding company operating in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. He is also Treasurer and former Chair for the Athens/Meigs County Salvation Army.
