I have 29 years experience in the accounting profession. My expertise is in commercial construction. My primary focus has been in assisting minority contractors obtain SBA (8a) certification and funding. I also conducted business workshops concentrating on financial accounting, funding,insurance and employee training. I have technical writing skills composing standard operating procedure (SOP) manuals, employee training and job description manuals, and employee benefits pamphlets. I am very experienced in employer/employee payroll taxes; business income, sales, and franchise taxes; and individual income taxes.I have worked as an accounting clerk, bookkeeper, project or staff accountant, and controller. I have also worked in the public and governmental accounting sector, primarily as an auditor. I was an assistant branch manager for a Minority Business Development Center(MBDC). These Centers were set up in selected cities throughout the United States and were operated by private enterprises utilizing subcontracts with the Department of Commerce. These MBDC's provided counseling to minority businesses in the areas of sales and marketing, estimating and bidding,accounting, and financing. I also have entrepreneurial skills obtained by operation of own business for six years providing financial and management counseling. I provided services as a liaison between employers and vendors, bankers, insurance agents, and equipment dealers providing purchase, rental or leasing services. I served in the U.S. Army from January, 1967 until January, 1970 and was given an honorable discharge as a 1st Lieutenant.
