Are you ready to take your business to the next level, but haven’t the time—and possibly the support—needed to effectively and efficiently plan for and manage your growth? Chester County SCORE can help!
Our new workshop series, Growing Your Business, sponsored by DNB First, one of Chester and Delaware County’s premier financial institutions, will help you shift from start-up mode to growth mode.
Growing Your Business was designed by business owners, for business owners. This highly interactive program provides you with the knowledge, tools and guidance needed to successfully grow your business. Working in partnership with your SCORE mentor, you’ll assess the current state of your business to identify strengths, weaknesses and potential growth opportunities, and utilize the knowledge gained in specialized workshops to create and implement a customized strategy and action plan.

Workshop Series Overview

Workshop 1: Marketing Your Business   April 10, 2013

This workshop provides you with marketing communications methods and tools to maximize your customer reach and retention. Topics include:

How you develop a marketing plan Key ideas to establish a successful market position

Examples of how you apply ideas to your business Case study

     Workshop 2: Growing Your Sales April 17, 2013

This session will help you identify strategies for increasing sales, expanding distribution channels and building and motivating  your sales team.  Topics include:

BenBenchmarking Evaluating your sales process

Expanding distribution Sales and customer relationship management (CRM) tools

Workshop 3: Managing Operations April 24, 2013
This session is designed to help you learn more about operating your business for profitability. You’ll be introduced to new ways of viewing operational data, so you know the status of the key performance indicators that drive your business’ success. Topics include:
Operations & company goals Identifying, managing & measuring critical operations
Preparing for growth KPIs & dashboards                                     
Workshop 4: Managing Your Time, People and Resources May 1, 2013
This workshop will help you evaluate your staffing and talent needs, better manage employee performance, and determine whether hiring or outsourcing is the appropriate course of action for achieving your goals. Topics include:
Hiring Practices               Employee Training
Development and Motivation Attaining Peak Performance
Using Outside Professionals Effective Delegation and Time Management
Workshop 5: Financial Management May 8, 2013
This workshop covers working with trusted advisors and using financial statements to manage your business. By the end of the session, you’ll have a better understanding of financial concepts, which will aid you in making more informed decisions for your business. Topics include:
Using and Understanding Financial Ratios Measuring the Company’s Financial Health
Funding Your Business Growth               Managing Risks
Using Cash Flow Forecasts Working with Trusted Advisors
Workshop 6: Strategic Planning – The Route to Success May 15, 2013
In this session, you’ll uncover your business’s strengths and weaknesses and begin to develop a vision and goals for growth. You’ll meet and interact with other program participants and be provided an overview of the complete program. In addition, you’ll have an opportunity to discuss your expectations and what you hope to gain from the workshops and from your relationship with your mentor.  Topics include:

Define growth goals   
Strengths/Weaknesses analysis

Identify challenges
Setting SMART objectives
