Joel M. Kushnir is a Principal at Joel M. His background is that of a senior executive who specializes in business development, project management and leadership of both management and technology practices for a variety of entities in government, industry and institutions. His specialty, for over 40 years, has been within the healthcare sectors, particularly for companies and government entities involved with drugs, devices and diagnostics, globally. Dr. Kushnir has been a member of senior management at firms such as Booz, Allen & Hamilton, Oracle Corporation, Cap Gemini Sogeti, Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation ServerLift Corporation. He has significant proficiency in business plan development, as well as regulatory filings for life sciences companies. Drawing on his extensive consulting background, his participation focused on the development and analysis of business requirements, generation of presentations, proposals, performing final negotiations, financial considerations and engagement delivery for large, small and entrepreneurial companies in a wide variety of industries. He has been directly responsible for approximately $50,000,000 in professional services during his career and has lead large teams in the execution of projects on a global basis. Three such organizations include the following. Dr. Kushnir participated, as a member of the Executive Committee for an Advisory Board, at Arizona State University’s School of Nursing. The objective of the board is to attract more drug, device and diagnostic companies to do more work in Arizona, particularly in the area of clinical trials. He is a certified mentor for SCORE, an affiliate of the U.S. Small Business Administration. At SCORE he mentors and consults with entrepreneurs who desire to start new businesses, as well as established businesses. In that role, he provides assistance in such areas as: how to start or improve established businesses, business planning, organization, regulatory issues, marketing, web page and social media utilization and finance. The businesses include concepts for both profit and not-for-profit establishments. Dr. Kushnir is an active member of the Phoenix Chapter's Executive Committee and the Chapter's Secretary. In addition, he volunteers at Camelback High School in the Phoenix School District. At Camelback High School, Dr. Kushnir mentors the school’s top students, many of whom come from inner-city environments. The students belong to the Distributive Education Clubs of America. A key purpose of the club is to prepare them for competition with other students at local, regional and national levels, presenting their entrepreneurial concepts to establish new businesses. He has been a judge at both local and international events for such organizations as DECA and the International Science Fair sponsored by Intel Corporation. Early in his career he taught such subjects as biology and chemistry at both the high school and university levels. He received his B.S. in Chemistry from the City College of the City University of New York and performed his doctoral studies in physical, environmental chemistry at the State University of New York, Albany.
