Thomas Wayne Hollen

He is retired from Ferris State University as Professor Emeritus. He had been Interim Director of the School of Engineering & Technology Systems at Ferris State University and Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering Technology and Energy Systems Engineering.   He taught at Ferris for 14 years.  Prior to Ferris, Mr. Hollen worked as a consultant to a major utility on natural gas and electric rebate programs.  He has been involved in energy projects as both a consultant and manager for 40 years, having conducted over 100 energy audits nationwide.  He was instrumental in establishing an Energy Systems Engineering B.S. degree at Ferris which started the Fall of 2010.  He has a B.S and M.S. from Western Michigan University.

He has worked for a CPA firm as consultant in various roles. He has been a Product Development Engineer for a wire & cable company and a Facility Engineer for a automotive supplier. He has worked for a Not-for-Profit R&D institution and has operated his own consulting practice.  He is a registered Professional Mechanical Engineer in the State of Michigan.
