Have done every job from Technician to CEO, and all between, in both small to very large companies. Won award for Entrepreneur of the year for S.W. Region USA for turn-around in 1996. Two careers, in Coatings Industry, then Semiconductors.Tom Filesi is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a BS degree in Chemical Engineering. He studied Management Science at the graduate level at Johns Hopkins as well as Arizona State University. He served as a member of the Business and Industry Council in Career Education for Mesa (Arizona) Public Schools. In addition to curricula advice, he often sponsored internships of high school students and faculty members in the Motorola industrial environment. Tom most recently served on the Electronics Industrial Advisory Committee of the University of North Texas. Mr. Filesi was brought to Optek Technology, a Public company with sales about $60,000,000, in Dallas,Texas in 1991 with the charter to turn around the then financially ailing company. He is credited with leading the successful turnaround of Optek which saw sales growth of double digits (percent), elimination of all debt, increase of shareholders’ equity from a very negative to a strong, positive number and increase of the stock price by a factor in excess of twenty times.
