Served as an Economic Consultant to the Peruvian Gov't for two years with USAID.

Have been a SCORE counselor since 1992 and have helped clients to start or grow a small business. Started as Electrical Engineer, progressed to maufacturing, manfacturing and engineering management, then to general management including responsibilities for sales, marketing, manufacturng, financial performance. Began career with a small company and ended it with a multi- national. Have worked in Canada, Mexico and the US. As a SCORE counselor I have helped clients plannning to start small businesses such as Food Services, drycleaning and laundry services, Nursing and Residential Care, Adminisration of Human Resouce Programs, Electronic and Miscellaneous Manfacturing, Museums, Social Assistance etc. Also assisted clients on business plans, budgets, financial planning, funding, patents and copyrights, marketing and management.

1) Design Engineer and Project Manager for industrial and municipal facilities throughout the southeatern U.S.

2) Owner and C.E.O. of a 120 employee consulting firm providing A&E professional services to federal, state and local clients throughout the U.S. Completed 100+ contracts with the US Army Corps of Engineers and other DOD agencies.

3) Registered Ptrofessional Engineer in 13 U.S. states.

4) Construction Industry panelist with the American Arbitration Association.

5) SCORE Certified Mentor.

6) Taught business courses at BRRC;in Flat Rock, NC

• 38 years at GE with increasing levels of responsibility in factory supervision, manufacturing engineering, quality control, product planning, sales and marketing, profit and loss responsibility
• Graduated MLP in 1970, held various positions in magnet wire manufacturing for 15 years before moving to fractional horsepower electric motor manufacturing. Spent 2 years in South Korea, 2 years in India, and extensive experience in China in sourcing and joint ventures. Moved into general management in 2001 as General Manager-Appliance Motors and Controls with profit and loss responsibility.
• Retired from GE in 2006 and started a consulting business in sourcing, technology transfer, mergers and acquisitions.

Career began in retailing with Federated Department Stores, Abraham & Straus,Brooklyn, NY and Filene's Boston, Ma

Joined Dunkin Donuts Corporation in 1972, in Purchasing, Operations,and other small business areas and progressed in expanding the Company through 25 years to a system of 5000 retail Franchised stores.  Developed and implemented the Franchise Owned Distribution and Purchasing Co-operatives system which included distribution centers located in US and Canada.  Current system services over 10,000 outlets, sales estimated at approx $2 bil. 

Upon retirement in 1996, developed as SCORE Counselor, Workshops for Los Angeles SCORE with expertise in Franchise development, operations, and focus Franchising, and small business start-ups and growth.  In Maui, HI, developed seminars in Home Business Start-up and growth, and in Cape Cod, Ma. focus on small business development.
