William C. McLeod: Bill gained broad experience during his 33-year career with a major energy company. Business planning, refining, marketing, new technology development and commercialization are areas of expertise he used throughout his career. Bill also led a major company-wide initiative on customer satisfaction and business process improvement. Bill has served in several leadership positions within our Chapter.  (2002)

Over 40 years in corporate America in industries ranging from Sandpaper to contact lenses and in organizations as large as Fortune 50 companies to start-ups. My career has primarily been in Financial and Operating management but has also included general management and consulting. I have worked in multi-national, multi-divisional environments dealing with factories and marketing in the US, Asia, Africa, Europe, South America and Australia. Products have ranged from consumer electronics to defense to contact lenses and finally a not for profit.

Worked in R&D and Management in international Medical Device companies in the field of Clinical Diagnostics products.

Spent time in international marketing in Europe.

Started a venture capital financed Clinical Diagnostics company.

Have experience in business plan development and strategic planning.

Also worked as consultant on mergers and acquisitions and on patent litigation.

A broad based experienced general management executive with diversified P/L, managerial and staff experience. My extremely diverse background includes positions such as Director of Finance, GM of Manufacturing, VP Transportation and Logistics, and VP of Operations. Experienced working with companies as small as $3MM in sales to as large as $3 Billion. Skilled in leading organizations in developing strategic plans and implementing the plan that lead to growth and profitability. Experienced in organizational change and cost management. Worked in small privately held companies to billion dollar public firms. I believe in getting things done! My favorite quote has to do with Leadership it is “Lead follow or get out of the way.“ Thomas Paine. Leadership needs to step forward and work with and guide an organization so best efforts are directed toward common goals that will lead to success. I enjoy the challenge of learning about people “their strengths, skills and personal situations and putting them in a team that enables them to become engaged and successful in their careers.” I recently took on the challenge of the Chapter Chairman for Fox Valley SCORE. An organization of over 90 incredibly talented, knowledgeable and dedicated business individuals that wants to help small business grow and become successful in our country.
