Bangor-area native Matt Chabe is an integrated marketing specialist with expertise in strategy, targeting, communication, and design. He is a graduate of the Department of Defense's accredited journalism school with honors, and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maine with a BA in Business Marketing. 
 
He began his career in 2000 as a public relations specialist in the U.S. Navy. He spent three years in San Diego onboard the Navy command ship USS Coronado, where he won multiple Navy-wide awards as editor of the ship's daily newspaper. 
 
In 2004, he became the Public Relations Officer at USS Constitution in Boston, the Navy's 210-year-old sailing ship. His PR efforts and television appearances during this time were instrumental in increasing the ship's visitation by 33%.
 
Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Bangor to direct a full service marketing agency for two years. Following this, he was the communications specialist for Emera Maine (formerly Bangor Hydro), Maine's second largest energy utility. In 2013, he shifted his focus full-time on Chapter Two Marketing & Public Relations.
 
Chabe is an active SCORE Mentor, and is a member of the Maine Public Relations Council (MPRC).

He had been Interim Director of the School of Engineering & Technology Systems at Ferris State University and Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering Technology and Energy Systems Engineering.   He taught at Ferris for 14 years.  Prior to Ferris, Mr. Hollen worked as a consultant to a major utility on natural gas and electric rebate programs.  He has been involved in energy projects as both a consultant and manager for 40 years, having conducted over 100 energy audits nationwide.  He was instrumental in establishing an Energy Systems Engineering B.S. degree at Ferris which started the Fall of 2010.  He has a B.S and M.S. from Western Michigan University.
