I have extensive experience in all aspects of finance and banking relationships, as well as in business acquisitions and sales, and in crafting business plans.  I am also very knowledgeable in accounting.  I was a chief financial officer of a public company for 11 years, an investment banker for 15 years, and also practiced commercial law for 5 years.  I have been an investor in small businesses and am familiar with the issues frequently arising in creating businesses and managing growth.  I have also advised non-profit entities and businesses seeking to provide services to non-profits.

I was an associate attorney with Kelley Drye & Warren, a New York City based law firm, from 1977 to 1982, including one year in Tokyo, Japan.  I was involved in the general commercial practice, including banking, finance, real estate finance, corporate acquisitions and advising non-profit entities.

I was an Investment banker with Lepercq, de Neuflize & Co., an international money management and investment banking firm, from 1982 to 1995.  During this time, I concentrated in real estate finance, including hospitality and senior housing assets, as well as private equity investments and corporate acquisitions.

I was the Chief Financial Officer and a member of Board of Directors of Six Flags, Inc. and predecessor entities, from 1995 to 2006.  I was a key participant in the growth of the company from a private enterprise with three assets to a publicly owned company with assets throughout United States and Europe.  I was responsible for all financial activities, including bank and other financings and relationships, budgeting, planning, and accounting, as well as other matters such as insurance and human resources.

I have been a private investor since 2006, investing in small to medium sized businesses seeking growth capital.

I have also served as director of two other public companies and two private enterprises, and as advisor to several start-up companies.

I attended undergraduate school on an NROTC scholarship and entered the Navy immediately after college.  I was in the nuclear submarine program from 1963 until 1970 serving on the USS Triton (SSN-586).I also taught nuclear power technology and inertial navigation.  Upon leaving active duty, I started working for Westinghouse Electric Corporation in the nuclear power business unit.  Over 25 years i progressed through a series of professional and managerial positions.  Highlights include managing the multimillion dollar nuclear training division and creating a joint venture for nuclear power plant instrumentation in Ukraine which still operates today. 

Upon leaving Westinghouse in 1994, I started a business and personnel management consulting business which I ran for seven years.  After retirement from consulting, my wife and I purchased a tourism lodging business in Alaska which we still operate today.

Volunteer activities include President of the Alaska B&B Association, member of the Alaska Tourism Association Board of Directors, parish lay leader.

  • After MBA was hired by Tenneco Oil Exploration and Production as a Financial Analyst/Controller in the Gulf of Mexico in 1987.    Bought by Chevron in 1989 and moved to San Francisco Bay area to be Director of Audit.
  • Hired as the 3rd employee for a start-up operation for Roadway Services in 1989.     With two partners we formed Roadway Logistics Systems (ROLS).     Became the top third party logistics provider in the world.     Bought by Federal Express in 1998.     Continued to work for FedEx Logistics until 2000.
  • In 2000, joined ERICO International as the Director of Supply Chain.    Later promoted to VP Supply Chain.    Responsible at times for Sourcing, Customer Service, Transportation, Distribution and Materials Management/Planning.    Currently VP - Transportation and Distribution Services.    ERICO is a manufacturer with WW sales totaling $575 million annually.
  • Also started Comprehensive Research Services with my wife.  Conducted Phase 3 clinical trials by contracting with doctors and pharmaceutical companies.    Ran business for 11 years before wife retired.
  • Currently own and operate "A Bucket of Balls" Driving Range in Uniontown, OH
